The screenplay competition is a great chance to work in creative collaboration with Timur Bekmambetov’s company  “Bazalevs”.

The contest is conducted in the framework of the Second Annual International Action Film Festival. Its purpose is to nurture the best and brightest aspiring filmmakers and writers.

It is quite easy to become a participant of the contest. You should submit the pdf-document no longer than 2 pages which consists of:

 -  Action film proposal, including a logline and a synopsis (first page);
 -  Biography of the writer, including writer’s contact information (second page);

Full screenplays should exist for all the submissions.

In the course of the Second Annual International Action Film Festival that will take place in Astana from 1 till 5 July 2011 five selected action-genre projects will be workshopped and pitched in front of an industry panel.

The winner will be awarded a $10,000 cash prize and the chance to develop the script with Timur Bekmambetov’s company  “Bazalevs”.
Besides the writers from Kazakhstan contestants from other countries will participate in the contest. One of the 5 winners will be selected from Kazakhstan, other 4 finalists will be international submissions.

Deadline for participants from Kazakhstan for submissions is 1 May 2011 and for participants from other states is 15 April 2011.

The initiator of the contest is Mr. Timur Bekmambetov.

In Kazakhstan the contest is conducted with the Support program of young talents www.alemsaby.kz

The winner of last year's competition was a young American writer Brian Miller with the draft of his film "Apollo 18". The film will premiere in 2011!
